DESCRIPTION: Crustose.  Usually growing in a sub-circular way with individuals reaching up to 10cm across the main verrucose thallus is pale grey in colour. The abundant apothecia are clustered towards the centre and are smooth, red-brown in colour with an occasional greenish tinge.  Each disc reaches up to 1.5mm in diameter. DISTRIBUTION: Widespread and generally common throughout. HABITAT: Frequently found on slightly acidic rocks and walls near the seashore or on cement and concrete.
